The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
